Leading to truth
I believe that the truth to the mystery of Lydia's death is that even though on the outside her life was good, and was in a good situation she was not really happy with her life. She never really got to do what she wanted to do the most, and this is what lead her to actually kiulling herself.
#1"You never got what you wanted, you just learned to get by without it." (124) #4 "What made something precious? Losing it and finding it." (136) #7 In psychology I learned that every person in their mind has their own desires as a person. If they are not allowed to make their own decisions they feel like their not living the life they want. #10 On the website psychology today they define a people pleaser as really nice person who will almost never say no to anyone and will spend a lot of their time doing things for others, but they say this is one of the most unhealthy things ever showing that Lydia was in a unhealthy spot in her life. |
#2 "People decide what you're like before they even get to know you." (147) #6 In my life as a personal experience there were times I had everything a person needs to have a good life, but I still was not happy because a lot of the choices I made were for my family and not for myself. #9 In the text at the start of chapter five as Lydia's mom is going through her room and finds condoms and cigarettes in the room showing that she did not know truly the life her daughter lived, and did not have a good relationship with her because she did not expect her child to be doing this. |
#3"She hadn't realized how fragile happiness was, how if you were careless, you could knock it over and shatter it." #5 “The things that go unsaid are often the things that eat at you whether because you didn't get to have your say, or because the other person never got to hear you and really wanted to.” #8 I talked to my friend Kory Lauer and asked him how it would feel personally if your parents put you in a situation to do what makes them happy, and he said making his parents happy is important but at a certain point he wants to do what he wants to have a fulfilled life. |
